Looking for a high-protein recipe that satisfies your sweet cravings? This wholesome combination brings together the rich, satiating depth of traditional fats with a creamy, protein packed yogurt base.
Every pancake recipe I’ve ever tried has always been dry and I never seemed to enjoy my morning pancakes. I decided one day to try something different and now I’d literally eat them every single day!
They are the perfect combination of crispy on the outside (with the help of the beef tallow) and soft and fluffy on the inside. The beef tallow just makes such a huge difference in their taste.
This recipe is easy to follow and it’s healthy. We should start focusing more on healthy breakfast recipes and foods to start our day with. We don’t want a sugar spike before we’ve even left the house for school or work. At the end of the day, you’ll have no energy left and it will at some point affect your health in a bad way.
I’ve also made THE BEST blueberry syrup that goes perfectly with these pancakes. The flavor combination is just amazing, and you’ll almost think about throwing out your maple syrup and just use this homemade blueberry syrup recipe every single time!
Let’s have a look at why you should absolutely try out this Beef Tallow, Greek yogurt pancake recipe:
Why our Pancake recipe is different
This is a seed-oil free recipe. Instead of vegetable oil in my pancakes, I use beef tallow. There are many risks with using some vegetable oils and the beef tallow gives them a great taste. Instead of milk, I combine milk and Greek yogurt to give them the great texture we love so much. BUT! There is a secret to how I mix the milk and yogurt too. You will find it HERE. It can be used as a drinking yogurt as well. It has many uses and has the creamiest texture to it that will absolutely help in making your pancakes even more fluffy!

Tallow naturally contains fat-soluble vitamins A, D E and K, which support immune function, bone health and cellular repair.
I use raw milk and it contains naturally occurring fatty acids like CLA and Omega 3’s, which are linked to heart health and metabolism. (If you do buy raw milk, be sure to buy it from a trustworthy source that keeps the milking area clean).
Greek yogurt is high in protein, and it contains live bacterial cultures (probiotics) that support a balanced microbiome, which improves digestion and lower inflammation.
This is definitely a healthy comfort food for me and a quick and easy pancake recipe I’ll run back to every single time!
Now let’s get into the steps for making this recipe:
Step 1 – Grab a bowl, preferably a stainless steel one because we don’t want to use plastic bowls and fill our pancakes with microplastics. Add your eggs and sugar (or honey) to the bowl. Using an electric hand mixer, beat them together until they are light in color and fluffy in texture. This will guarantee a fluffy pancake. This will take about 3 minutes on medium-high speed.
Step 2 – This is a one bowl pancake recipe, I’m a mom of 2 and have lots of other things to do, we don’t want to have our kitchen full of dishes after preparing food for our family. So, add your baking powder, baking soda, sea salt and vanilla extract to your bowl and give it a good, quick mix with your mixer. Everything should be well combined.
Step 3 – Next, throw in that milk, Greek Yogurt and 1 tablespoon of beef tallow. The other tablespoon will be used later to fry them in. Use a spatula to fold all of the ingredients into the egg mixture. Your beef tallow should be soft (either room temperature or melted). Otherwise, you’re going to have a very hard time mixing in the beef tallow if it’s cold and hard.
Step 4 – Lastly, add the all-purpose flour to the mixture, and using your electric hand mixer again, beat the mixture until it is well combined and there are no lumps left. The consistency should be fluffy and more on the thicker side. They are ready now to be added to the hot pan!

Step 5 – Add the last tablespoon of beef tallow to your pan and turn the heat to medium to high. You should wait until the pan, and oil is hot before adding your pancakes to the pan. When it is hot and ready, turn your heat down to low so your pancakes don’t burn.
Step 6 – Scoop about a 1/4 cup of the mixture onto the pan (this is per pancake). My pan can take up to 4 pancakes. Leave them to fry for about 1-2 minutes until there are bubbles forming on top. Then it’s time to turn them over for another 1-2 minutes. They should be light brown in color and crispy on the edges.
Step 7 – Serve and enjoy them with maple syrup, honey or our homemade fruit syrup.

Safe vs. Toxic utensils and cookware:
You don’t need much to get started with this recipe. I’d only recommend using a stainless-steel bowl to mix your ingredients in, so you don’t consume plastic. When you mix your ingredients in a plastic bowl, some microplastic particles WILL come off and get into your mixture.
Then I will recommend using either a stainless-steel pan, or ceramic pan to fry them in. It is your safest cookware. The non-stick cookware releases a lot of toxic chemicals into your food when it becomes hot and is even worse when it has scratches to the surface of it. There are a lot of health risks involved in using non-stick cookware.
Now that we’ve covered all that was needed, let’s jump right into the recipe!
I hope you and your kids enjoy this recipe as much as we do in our house. My biggest goal is for everyone to have healthier lifestyles and get rid of all of the toxic stuff that just makes us and our kids sick. Here, we expose the toxic items and foods and replace them with organic, natural and healthier recipes and items so we can start being healthier.
