What I love about drinkable yogurts are that when I don’t have time to make a quick meal; I can just grab one of these yogurts and it’ll help me to get some energy and get some things done. It’s high in protein so it will help me feel full while I take on tasks!
Ingredients needed:
Make this easy recipe with only 2 ingredients. It’s simple.
- Organic milk that still has the cream top (I use raw milk)
- Organic good quality yogurt
Now it’s important to buy a GOOD quality yogurt because then you’ll get a good quality drinking yogurt.
I like to use raw milk, because the extra cream just adds a rich and creamy texture to your drinking yogurt. And that makes a huge difference in the taste.
What can I add to my drinking yogurt for more flavor?
You can add an anything you like to it. If you like a more chocolatey taste, add some cocoa powder and maple syrup or honey to give it a sweet taste.
For a fruity taste, you can add fruits to your yogurt or our homemade blueberry recipe mentioned above.
For a healthy, rich taste, I like to add cinnamon, a small amount of vanilla extract and maple syrup to it. Which makes for the best drinkable yogurt ever!
Just add the drinking yogurt and all your extra add-ins into a blender and blend everything together. You’ll love the taste!

Step 1 – Pour 4 cups of milk into a medium sized pot and let it come to an almost-boil on medium heat. check your milk using your thermometer. The milk should get to 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Turn your heat off and let the milk cool down to 120 degrees.

Step 2 – Get 1 cup of Organic Greek yogurt and put it into a bowl. You can use more Greek yogurt if you want a thicker drinking yogurt.

Step 3 – Add about a cup of your milk to the Greek yogurt and whisk it together until there are no lumps left. Pour the mixture back into the pot with the other milk and stir until everything is combined.

Step 4 – Pour the mixture into glass bottles.

Step 5 – I use my daughter’s blanket to cover the yogurt for about 4 hours so they can stay warm. After 4 hours you can put them in the fridge, and it will get thicker as it cools. Then it’s ready to use.

Step 6 – This is my mixture with cinnamon, maple syrup and a small amount of vanilla extract. It’s so good!

Healthy DIY Drinking Yogurt Recipe for Kids
Equipment
- 1 Medium sized pot To warm your milk in
- 1 Small bowl To whisk your Greek yogurt and milk in
- 1 Measuring cup To measure your Greek yogurt and milk
- 1 Whisk To whisk the Greek yogurt and milk together
- 3 Glass jars To store your drinking yogurt in
Ingredients
- 4 cups Milk I use raw milk because it still has the cream layer on top
- 1 cup Greek yogurt Needs to be a very good quality Greek yogurt.
Instructions
- Add your 4 cups of milk to a medium sized pot. Put it on medium heat so it doesn't heat up too fast and start boiling. Use your thermometer and let it reach 180 degrees Fahrenheit.
- As soon as it reaches 180 degrees, turn off the heat and leave your pot on the stove until it cools down to 120 degrees. I give mine a stir every now and then, which helps to cool it down faster.
- Take your cup of Greek yogurt and put it in a bowl. Take a cup of the warm milk and add it to your yogurt in the bowl. This step is necessary because you need to whisk until there are no lumps left. After you whisked it for a while and you have a smooth consistency, add the mixture back to the milk in the pot.
- Mix it well and then pour the mixture into clean glass jars.
- Put your jars on a counter and cover them with a towel or blanket to keep them warm for a few hours. I leave mine like that for about 4 hours.
- After 4 hours, put them in the fridge. They will get thicker as they cool down.
- After about an hour or 2, your drinking yogurt will be ready! Add in whatever you want to make it sweeter and tastier!
Storing
- Store them in glass jars in the fridge for up to 6 days
Serving:
You can drink it as is, but I would recommend adding honey or maple syrup to give it a sweeter taste. You can add fruits or our homemade blueberry syrup that goes really well with it! Add cinnamon for that rich taste and extra health benefits! Put everything in a blender..give it a good blend and ENJOY!
