1 Mixing Bowl to mix all of the ingredients in
1 Electric Hand Mixer or Hand Whisk to beat or whisk all of the ingredients together
1 Pan to fry the pancakes in
1 Spatula to flip the pancakes with
1 Plate to put the pancakes in after taking them out of the pan
- 1 1/2 Cups of All-Purpose Flour
- 1 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1 Tsp Baking Soda
- 1/4 Tsp Sea Salt
- 1/4 Cups Sugar or Honey you can add more if you'd like your pancakes to taste sweeter.
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 Tbsp Beef Tallow best to use at room temperature or melted
- 1 Cup of Milk
- 1/4 Cup of Greek Yogurt
With an electric hand mixer, beat together the sugar (or honey) with the eggs. You can do this by hand too if you'd like, with a regular whisk. Beat until light in color and fluffy. About 3 minutes on medium speed.
Add the baking powder, baking soda, salt and vanilla extract to the egg mixture and beat until just combined.
Next, add the milk, Greek yogurt and 1 Tablespoon of the beef tallow to the mixture (leave the other tablespoon for later for frying) and fold it in with a spatula until combined.
Lastly, add the all-purpose flour to the mixture and beat again until there are no lumps left. About 1 minute.
Take the last Tablespoon of Beef tallow and add it to the pan to fry your pancakes in. Turn your heat on medium to high just to warm up your oil and pan. Wait until the oil and pan is hot before adding your pancakes.
Turn the heat down to low heat so you don't burn your pancakes.
Scoop about 1/4 cup of the mixture onto a hot pan (per pancake) and leave it until bubbles form on top, turn them over and leave them for another 1-2 minutes. They should be light brown in color. When they're done, take them out of the pan and put it on the plate for serving.
They should be crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
Serve with our homemade syrup or maple syrup!
