So, today our focus is on a dessert dish. So let’s jump right into it!
Steps for making this delicious recipe:
Step 1 – Gather all of your ingredients so they are easily accessible. This makes it a whole lot easier and faster to make this recipe.
Step 2 – Sift your dry ingredients into a bowl and mix until they are combined.
Step 3 – Take your cold butter and cut it into cubes and add it to the dry ingredients. This can either be done by hand or in your food processor. If doing it by hand, rub it into the dry ingredients to get it all mixed in and some pea sized crumbs have formed. If you are using a food processor, pulse everything together until the mixture looks and feels like wet sand.
Step 4 – Add the egg to your mixture and knead it a few times until it forms a dough and you can form a ball. This step doesn’t take long. About 2 minutes. If you are using your food processor, pulse everything together until the dough forms and you can take it out. It should stick together to form a ball too.
Step 5 – Take a spoon, and using the bottom of the spoon, spread the dough in the pie dish. Have a cup of water ready to dip your spoon into the water as needed because otherwise the dough will stick to your spoon. Make the crust layer as thin as possible. It will become a bit thicker as you bake it. This is what it should look like more or less.
Step 6 – Put it in the oven at 350 degrees for about 10-15 minutes until it is light brown in color. Just check on it regularly. If it’s not brown yet at 15 minutes, let it go a while longer. But don’t let it burn.
Step 7 – Add your milk and cinnamon stick to a large pot and bring it to a boil. You can add the whole clove too if using. When it starts to boil, turn the heat down to low so it doesn’t burn or boil over the pot. Leave it to simmer on low heat while you get the rest of stuff ready.
Step 8 – Add your eggs to a mixing bowl. Using an electric hand mixer, Beat the eggs ad medium speed for 2 minutes. Add the granulated sugar and beat at medium speed again for 2-3 minutes. The mixture should look light and fluffy. If you need more time, then beat them for a few more minutes at the same speed.
Step 9 – Add your flour, cornstarch and sea salt to the mixture and lightly beat it to get everything combined
Step 10 – Lastly, add the Vanilla extract to the mixture and mix until combined.
Step 11 – Add the egg mixture to the hot milk on the stovetop. Using a wooden spoon or spatula, slowly pour the egg mixture into the milk and stirring it slowly. Stir until everything is well combined. Leave it on low-medium heat to get the mixture to boil. Let it boil for about 5 minutes. When it is done, add the butter and mix well. Lastly, take out the cinnamon stick and clove and pour the filling into the already baked pie crust.
Step 12 – Sprinkle cinnamon powder on top and let it cool for 3 hours or overnight. It has to be completely cooled down before serving.
Step 13 – Serve and enjoy!
I hope you enjoy this recipe and that you will leave us a review on it. I hope it becomes a staple dessert in your home and family too!

Easy and Delicious Milk Tart Recipe – The BEST Milk Pudding
This dessert is a South African staple dessert. It is both delicious and easy to make. The cinnamon powder adds a rich flavor to the milk pudding.
In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and granulated sugar. Give it a quick mix until combined.
Cut the cold butter into small cubes and add them to the dry ingredients and rub it in with your hands until a few pea sized crumbs form. Or you can put it into a food processor and first pulse the dry ingredients until combined. Then add the cold butter cubes and pulse for a few minutes until it almost looks like wet sand.
Add the egg to the mixture and either knead it a few times with your hands until you can form a ball, or pulse for a few minutes until a dough starts to form.
Using the bottom of a wet spoon, take the dough and spread it in the pie dish to form a pie crust. Make the layer as thin as possible. If the spoon starts to stick, grab a small bowl with water and dip it into the water as often as needed. The water keeps the dough from sticking to the spoon. Cold or warm water works.
Put it in the oven until lightly browned. Around 10-15 minutes. Just check on it regularly so it doesn't burn.
When it is done, set the pie crust aside until the filling is ready.
Filling
Add the milk to a large pot and bring to a boil on medium heat. Add the cinnamon stick to get that rich and tasty flavor. And if you use the clove. This is where you add it in as well.
While the milk is coming to a boil, use an electrical hand mixer and beat the eggs for 2 minutes. Then add the granulated sugar and beat on high speed for another 2-3 minutes. The mixture should look foamy and creamy.
As soon as the milk starts to boil, turn the heat down to low so it can simmer until you have everything ready.
Add the flour, cornstarch and sea salt to egg mixture and mix well at medium speed. Just until everything is fully incorporated. The mixture will be a bit thicker.
Add the Vanilla Extract and give it a quick mix.
Add the egg mixture to the hot milk and keep the heat on low. With a spatula or wooden spoon, slowly mix everything together. Let it come to a soft boil and give it a stir every few seconds. Let it boil for about 5 minutes, then turn the heat off.
Add the 3 Tbps Unsalted Butter and stir it in until it is melted and fully incorporated. Take out the cinnamon stick and clove before pouring into the pie dish.
Add the milk mixture to the baked pie crust and lightly sprinkle cinnamon on top.
Leave it to cool down so everything can set. When it has cooled down and the pie dish isn't as hot anymore, you can put it in the fridge so it can set faster. This takes about 3 hours to overnight.
You don't want to cut into it while it is still hot. Your pie will fall apart. You want to wait until it is cold before serving.
